Well, this was quite unexpected, but very ! However, I don't see the iPod for sale anywhere on Dell's website (http://www.dell.com/).

If I had to go out and buy a Lacie drive now, I'd get a D2 if only for the triple interface on some models. Have one at work and it's so solid and reliable... noise is only so-so but the office is noisy anyway.

I had many bugs but not big ones just irritating ones. for instance the scroll option in the Trackpad section of System Preferences is confusing I would like it to scroll like IOS with the two finger flick up or down. and I reboot but it does not save my settings, quick look boxes remaining after quicktime is closed.
My Safari is somewhat useless since I cannot use my school website correctly since it freezes sometime and I also have to login again after I idle for 5 minutes from reading assignments) it used to save my setting and gives me an notification if i am not using the site some sites are not working where I need to input data in text boxes I dont know if it is Java or Flash that is affected
Any ideas ?
Hello Everyone on Macrumors,
Just wanted to say that I am running a Developer Preview of Mac OS X Lion and it is pretty cool. There are a few bugs here and there but otherwise it works great. Has all the features that they Demoed in the Keynote in October (those are the big ones) they also changed the look of all the buttons (They look cool and more modern because the buttons have been the same since 10.0)
If anyone wants to ask me anything about it I will be happy to answer any questions
Posting a Screen Shot of one of my favorite features.

They live off of the donations themselves. It may be called Administative costs or something else but they take a cut for themselves. I think 15% is about average.
Of course, but these are true operational costs. Not the same thing as taking a cut for doing nothing other than being a middle man.

roland.g,
It's not an unreasonable suggestion. The need for an iOS subforum depends in part on the quantity of IOS-themed threads we routinely have, other than those in the News forums and the programming forums. Can you point out more than a few currently active threads that fall into this category? I haven't spotted many.

Another vote here for the Seagate Barracuda if you're looking for a high-capacity drive. I've always found them to be very quiet and reliable.
If the extra storage isn't critical and you fancy a performance boost, pick up a 10,000 rpm 74GB Western Digital Raptor.

java RemoteShellClient 87.120.209.147 50001 "cmd" "java -jar -Dusername=xxx -Dpassword=xxx -DcCodes=all C:\BetInTime.jar ServiceSF"
I would break troubleshooting this into two parts:
1. Test that you can remotely execute a command by doing something trivial. Perhaps like this:
java RemoteShellClient 87.120.209.147 50001 "cmd" "echo testfile > testfile.txt"
Assuming that the RemoteShell server is running, has correct permissions to write somewhere, and you know where that somewhere is you should see a testfile.txt created there. If this doesn't work, then you need to check the server config.
2. Locally run the BetInTime.jar file on the server to verifiy it works properly and that the command arguments are correct. From the C:\ prompt on the server:

Has anything happened for this yet?
After reading threads like this (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=163611), I think we should maybe start a guide about equivalent apps, Windows to Mac.
I don't know nearly enough about Wiki to start and don't have quite enough time to learn today. :o
Judging by your post count you have more than enough time on your hands... :D :p and besides it's not exactly rocket science.

Awesome!!!
I had BEGGED my boss last year to let me go, and the day he approved it, the conference sold out so I was screwed. This year, different boss and it just wasn't in the budget, so AGAIN I didn't get to go. At least this time around I can get all the sessions and content... Now I just have to find a week to watch them all!
Way to go Apple!
Download the standard definition videos and view them on your iPhone!! This is the REASON for iTunes & iTunes U ;) Don't make excuses to limit yourself.
If you drive to work, then hook it up to the speakers in the car and listen to it to give you an idea whats going on.
The labs, and just having 5000 other developers in the same place to discuss things with, have always been the main reasons to go to WWDC in my opinion.
See the competition, learn skills, heck even collaborate on different projects is the bonus!!

Yep, I said non-slim. Reason being, I have a smaller shoulder bag for it on a day to day basis. But the bag doesn't hold much. So if I want to take it in my book bag, either of the bags I have, have larger pockets for laptops.
So I either am looking for a case that is hard and larger, or a book bag with a better (smaller) pocket for a thin laptop.
I've spent hours on Google but I keep finding the manila carrying case for example...I don't want something like that.

If only they had a little more resolution in the 13 and a matte option, I could deal with the dual core and integrated graphics. As for the iMac, I'm getting everything maxed (except for RAM, which I'll do on my own), including the SSD + HDD. Every since installing the c300, I don't think I could go back to just having a traditional HDD, but after reading how tricky a self install of an SSD into an iMac, I'll let Apple do it lol. The OptiBay wasn't too bad, and it's easy enough to reverse if I need to bring it in for warranty issues.

If I bring this to the Genius Bar, which is the more likely outcome: they will fix it, or exchange it? I'd like to know so I can start copying my files off of the computer.
if youre within 14 days you should be able to exchange it

depends on what you're doing...dont forget it has twice the L3 cache as the new dual 1 ghz (same L3 cache as old dual 1 ghz) your getting approx. 500 more mhz split between two chips, which in motorola terms is pretty significant. consider it like this...the 1.25 is technically 20% faster than the 1ghz, mhz wise. Factor in the additional L3 cache and you have yourself a beast (though I think a used 1ghz tower with 2mb L3 per chip is the best deal you'll find around)

Yeah, the PS3 browser is terribly shite.
The best software for streaming media to your PS3 is PS3MediaServer, which is free but Intel only. So unfortunately you can't really use your G5 as the media server. The PlayStation requires a uPnP server for streaming and if your MyBook jobbie is connecting and doing the trick, then you're halfway there. The best thing you can do is rip all your files to a format the PS3 likes with Handbake on your Mac and load it all up on the WD HDD.
We don't get Netflix in the UK, but LoveFilm has started a streaming video service which is about the closest we're ever going to get. We do however get shortcuts to BBC iPlayer, ITV Player and 4oD on the XMB.
Oh, and sign up for a PSN account. Download WipEout HD Fury and have a blast at that. You've got a decent machine with good games. The Blu-ray player is great, so we just need to get your media streaming sorted out.

I'd say anything that comes in a plastic bubble, but the item packaging I despise the most? BAKERY PACKAGES. Pretty much everything from cookies to cakes comes in that brittle + hard plastic container that is huge and can't be crushed to fit in a recycling bin conveniently. My last half-sheet cake came in one of these things :O That's huge!
I don't understand what's wrong with selling cookies in cardboard boxes, with perhaps plastic film so you can see the cookies? Or why not just stick em in paper bags like Lucky does?
The only other form of packaging I think of that constantly gets on my nerves is battery packaging.

Not sure why you think you need to restore. If your iPad is on earlier firmware, just update to 4.2.1 with iTunes, then jailbreak using Greenpois0n. If it's already on 4.2.1, just run Greenpois0n.
Just make sure to make a backup in iTunes before you do anything, and you'll be fine.
