1) As people said, it was an "old design" when most people not expect a new iPhone release every summer.
2) They released a 3G iPhone as Verizon is releasing LTE devices. I wouldn't buy any 3G phone today and be locked in for 2 years.
Now add the fact that Verizon customers (myself included) never knew when to expect a verizon iPhone, and sort of gave up waiting. Those points above are not nearly enough reason to do an early upgrade and pay full price for the "older" style iPhone. I'll probably get a Verizon iPhone when I am out of the contract with my Droid X, but that's not till Summer 2012.
I do know a bunch of people that left Verizon for the iPhone that said they will come back, but are not going to pay those astronomical ETFs to do it.... especially to then buy the same phone they already have.
Wait for a next generation LTE iPhone to show up and people to run out their contract, and I bet a lot of people switch to Verizon.

Killing people is morally wrong (according to my beliefs), therefore I cannot support the killing of a criminal either, no matter how bad the crime is. Eh, people are reading the data completely wrong. The iPhone 4 dropped on Verizon in mid to late February and had 2.2mil activations by the end of the quarter (roughly 6-7 weeks later), at & t had it for roughly six weeks (almost double the time of Verizon) and only managed 3.6 mil activations. Verizon is activating MORE iPhones than AT&T at a faster rate, including the 3GS deal.
Im trying to figure out why media sites keep getting this so hopelessly wrong. This device sold 2 million+ units being a ten month old product in SIX WEEKS. Do you realize that that is nearly 15% of the lifetime sales of the most successful line of android phones (the galaxy s) in six weeks? Where does he say that he does not like the Financial Time? The point is, he does not like that the Financial Times sells the address to junk mailers, and I also must agree with it. Unfortunately there is these day not too much choice since you often don't know who is putting you on those lists - I found out about some due to typos in my unusual name that they had made in my subscriptions and I got junk in the good old paper mail to the 'wrong' name. But usually you don't know who sells your name and it is good if you have an option where you don't you are not put on stupid paper wasting junk lists. - FT does not need my name and/or address.

When a cheaper version becomes available, FT would like to be able to contact you to let you know about the new deal.

I don't want THEM having the information. If I sever my relationship with a business (for example, by canceling a subscription) I don't WANT them to pester me to re-sign. I don't want phone calls, mailings, and email. If their computer burps and decides I haven't paid them properly, I don't WANT them pestering me or having debt collectors pester me.

Can anybody tell me for sure if I will lose all my rollover minutes if I make the change online? I have 5 lines on a family plan and I know that I have to make the change on all 5 lines manually which I am ok with. Can somebody verify for me that nothing will change on my account such as losing rollover mins, losing corporate FAN discount, losing anything else? I simply want to change Unlimited family text to unlimited family text plus unlimited any M2M. Whenever I do an online chat with a rep or call, they always tell me I need to 'update' my plan or something (I am on a family talk 1400 plan). I don't see a reason for this but they always tell me when I 'update', i'll lose all my rollover mins so I have not 'updated'....obviously and no ill effects as of yet.

Why not? The USA for example has only 4 million miles of roads. A car with driver + passenger + some decent equipment should be able to map say 10 miles per hour, at a cost of $50 per hour. 200 cars for a year, that's 20 million dollars. And then you have a database that you can sell, and that you can use everywhere. Then write an iPhone app that lets users make corrections, lets businesses add their locations etc. and you are ready.

As a Graphic Designer, when the iPad was announced, this was the first thing I wanted to see. But after experiencing the iPad for over a year, along with a desktop, I don't think this way of working with Photoshop will prove to be beneficial. Lightroom, probably more so.
Just keep it as a Photoshop Express and push the photo adjustment features. Messing with layers, blending modes and brushes I think should remain as features for a desktop for designing.
Lastly, this demo reminds me of JuxtaPoser, a quick two layer masking app.

Sadly it's not listed as fair use. I don't like having to carry around EVERY disc when I can compress my movies to my hard drive.

I agree on the copying for own use. You should not be limited on something you have purchased. But you put 'profit' at the end of your 'list' that to me means you also sell the copies. That is what I and the movie studios do not agree with. Hence all this red tape crap with music and movie downloads.

Apple really wants to squeeze out all potential sales of the iPhone 4 up until the last minute because they lost big time in 3GS sales for nearly 2 months after the leaked/stolen iPhone 4 incident.
I really hope that they will still push out the iPhone 5 in June despite all the rumors that it will be postponed to September.
That's what I'm hoping too for when my 3GS contract expires this summer.
But a white iPhone 4? No thanks Apple.

-Those two girls made that wallpaper in my Biology class the other day so I use it on MWF;), and I use the Jordan one all the other time. I'm actually quite fond of the Jordan one, although keeping the GeekTool scripts centered is a huge pain...:D
