like all Ponzi schemes, Social Security does not make money, it simply takes money from younger taxpayers to pay benefits to older (now retired) taxpayers. In order for this (and all) Ponzi scheme to stay afloat, there must be more and more payers or more income from each individual payer to ensure the pyramid stays intact. Sorry, you're just compounding fallacy upon fallacy. This is plainly incorrect. Your first post has a graph showing Social Security is unfunded, this is clearly not true as I have already provided evidence for. Your attempt to:
Stay on topic so we can have a meaningful discussion about actual practical solutions.
...means little when you're posting misleading information in the first place in order to make a scare-mongering argument about deficit reduction.

I will always have a soft spot for Atari. My first PC in 1987 was an Atari 1040 ST Mega 2 which had (hang on to something...) 2 Megabytes of RAM and a 8Mhz CPU. I added on a HUGE 20MB hard drive the size of a shoebox. I bought it coz of the built-in MIDI port which I used to drive my recording studio.
In it's day it was a GREAT computer!!!

If I get the new iPod Shuffle 2G with old headphones, i'm sending it right back. That is one of the reasons I bought the Shuffle. Instead of spending $29 for some headphones I spent $50 dollars more and got a shuffle...:(

I'm new to the Apple/iPad world and am trying to figure out what the best way to organize my icons are. I figured many of you have more experience in this than I do so what better place to look for a tip :)

I don't care for the front end, but I think it's an improvement. Call me crazy? We're not talking about the Passat CC here, but the one that looks like a Nissan Altima, Honda Accord, Pontiac G8, or another half dozen other cars on the road with almost the exact same body shape.
It's not that great anyway, the front sucks - it looks way too cheap and undignified for a car of that size, eh whatever.
I wish car manufacturers would try harder to make their cars look DIFFERENT instead of the same. Yes, I'm a car nerd and I know the difference between a VW and a Honda, but what's scary is Honda doesn't want you to know - **** look at Hyundai, they want you to see the Genesis and think it's a BMW.. that's DUMB!
So yea, I do see where they're coming from, but the body lines are cleaner and the back door treatment looks a LOT better (they stole it from Audi, for sure) than the giant hoffmeister kink and straight diagonal line down the side.
As for the new Civic, look at the pieces of platsic/metal they used in between the glass to make em smaller/squarer - it appears they're trying to cut costs in order to make up for the 'expensive' interior. Yep, that's what car design is coming down to - people want fancy interiors and don't care what the outside of the car looks like.
I kinda like what they did with the sedan, but I hate the hoffmeister kink. It started on Fords in the 50s (I think), and just like flame surfacing was copied by BMW, and should've stayed with BMW lol.

It's impossible to be 100% certain is a crap response, because in many cases it is 100% certain, and i've named a few already.
That is false. Even lawyers agree that 100% certainty is impossible. That is why we have the term "reasonable doubt". The 5 men wrongly sentenced to death in Ohio went through what was supposed to be an exceptionally thorough legal process, yet it still failed them.
Also, the whole financial issue is very debatable and i don't think anyone here has solid figures on it.
An unconvincing statement. Prove it.
The only reason it may cost more to execute someone is because of all the appeals and court costs, this can easily be fixed so execution is the most economical way.
Stalin, Gaddafi and Kim Jong Il would agree. You're in good company there.

Again to get the real hourly wage divide $25 by 3, that is the true hourly rate which is $8.30. Reasonable I think not.
Generally the rule is the rule of 3 (this is how I quote, clients are happy and I don't undercut myself), times quotes by 3 and divide your hourly rate by this will give you the most accurate way of billing and ensuring you don't undercut yourself while the actual payment is never over the quoted amount (clients love this). It means it will allow you to reinvest in yourself with sick leave, holidays, new equipment and software.
So for a site mock up I would have quoted $675, while the actual billable would have come in around $375-$450.

Anyone try it yet? sort of like fakeclockup but the descriptions lead it to be more! this one actually speeds up your clock speed? I would say to remove the fake clock up before you try this

well this kinda goes along with the A-list requirements, for A-list you have to have a high enough minute plan, and if you do, like me, you never end up using your minutes because everyone you call is on your A-list. So I have 9000 rollover minutes... sheesh. And if i drop down a level, I lose all my rollovers, pay a fee, then have to bump it back up the next month anyway. It's just a complicated way of making sure I don't go over my minutes.
So I'll add this new feature tomorrow, and in 3 months I'll have 12000 rollover minutes. Hurray, i guess. :rolleyes:

I wonder how difficult it would be find an individual with the talents needed both on the Software Engineering side & the GIS (Geographic Information Systems) side. Most GIS education these days doesn't really focus on programming. Infact, most GIS "programs" are just crash courses on how to operate ESRI products.

I am all against this nostalgia gaming. U have so many great games available on the ipad or iphone that utilise their potencial, why would u wanr to play games that have 12 pixels running around? I think it has more to do with people remembering the "good old times" when they havent had all that depression, fear and insecurity going on.
I played Atari up through super nintendo. I stopped at that point partly due to the games appearing to play themselves. If you ask young people to go back and try to play Zelda or link from beginning to end, you often hear "its too hard". The point of the old games was to be challenging; not to be a movie disguised as a game.
I'll admit that recently when I played an older game I was disappointed but then I realized I was doing something wrong. I was hitting the continue button. The older games are better if you challenge yourself to score as high as possible on one credit or compete with a second person on one credit.
You know the new games would be more interesting if played like that too. These first person shooter games are ridiculous because you keep getting back up after dying. The thing is that it doesn't seem as boring to play like that because the scenery of the game keeps changing. But try having two people play as far as possible with one life or three if that is standard and go as far as possible on that. I bet it is a better game if you play with the rul that you start over when you die in the game.

Unlike most of you spoiled punks who never owned an Atari or played in a real arcade, I did and this game ROCKS! $15 for chunk o' games is nothing unless you're still living off yer mama's teet. Get a job, even a remedial one like the Apple store and quit yer whining. You just suck in Asteroids, that's all.
