I am seriously considering camping out as I REALLY want one as soon as possible... Has anyone been at this location for a launch before? Is it pretty popular? I was hoping that maybe it wasn't as popular of an Apple store and that the lines would be shorter... that and I live in Oakland about 5 minutes away!

As for my friend, we have known each other since kindergarten (now in our 30s) and I originally offered to give it to him for free but he insisted on paying a fair-market price.

Here are a few things:
1.) Check you color sync profile.
2.) Load in a blank white picture and move it around the screen.
Are there really hot spots.
3.) Load in or create a b/w test 4 square test pattern. Do the same.
4.) Try these resolution test patterns.
SMPTE and BWH test patterns to download. (http://brighamrad.harvard.edu/research/topics/vispercep/tutorial.html)
5.) Are you a smoker, or is the screen in direct sunlight for a time?
Spotty yellowing may occur behind an in front of the screen from smoke and nicotine. Sunlight may damage a screen with UV.
If you find "hot spots" and have AppleCare, give Apple a call.
6.) If your dog does pee on the screen, it should just drip off. If it doesn�t, you dog may be diabetic. Glucose in the urine will cause it to stick.

I deleted my time machine preferences and started from scratch (full reset as its called). It backed up last night and then this morning it reported that the disk was full. It was more of an alert than an error. I said OK and started the next backup and it failed, same error. I've got 641GB of free space on the disk! My backup set is large but it should only be backing up the changes so it shouldn't be bombing out. Nothing on my computer changed over night (or sure as hell not 641GB worth of changes!

One of the rumors is that they will be adding Redcode support to Final Cut for those fancy 4K hd Red Cameras. Personally I'm hoping for a Macbook Pro update similar to the way they announced the Mac Pro updates during CES.

PS-In a two week trip to Italy last summer, I was delayed by TWO transport labor strikes...according to locals, this happens regularly. You might wonder how they get stuff done if this happens so often. The short answer is that they don't. :rolleyes:

I have computers running all the time, and this seems like a worthy cause.
My dad died from a brain tumor, and my sister recently underwent surgery to remove a large chunk of cancerous liver tissue [and is starting up chemo very soon:( ].
It might be akin to throwing splinters from the arms of deck chairs off the Titanic, but it makes me feel like I'm contributing, and the competitive nature of accumulating points is a geekycool bonus.

or stop the WU, copy the files:
- queu.dat
- work (folder)
- unitinfo.txt
- FAHlog.txt
Uninstall folding completely, install the console version and answer the standard questions (the configuration routine). Then stop the console version, because it already started folding on a new WU and replace the new files which it has created (named the same as the 4 above) with the ones you copied. It should go further with the old WU.

I have been trying to download iTunes for mac, for a reinstall, since late yesterday. None of the links I have found work. Either they don't exist, or they are being redirected by Apple's site to the apple.com/startpage. Any way to let Apple know their links are not working and that iTunes is unavailable for download?

No. It's not related to any dislike between Apple and Oracle. I believe it was timed purposely to keep Java applications out of the new Mac App Store.

It's getting louder because Skype is a CPU-intensive program, which causes your processor to heat up. The noise you hear are the cooling fans. Any video chat program will do the same thing.
